Lake Havasu Lighthouses 106

A group of boaters decided there was a need for light along a stretch of the Colorado River around Lake Havasu City after a number of serious boat accidents. So in response to there concerns, the Lighthouse Club was created in 2000 with a goal of placing a lighthouse along every mile of a 85 mile stretch in the Colorado River. A decision was made to replicate famous existing lighthouses at about 1/3 the size of the originaly lighthouses. Eastern lighouses were built on the east shore of the river, western lighthouses were built on the west shore and the great lake lighthouses have been built on the adjacent island. Lighthouses are continually being added with at minimun 27 functioning lighthouses currently.
