Bartlett Lake is the second largest lake in Arizona and was formed by the damming of the Verde River. It is a beautiful desert environment in the Tonto National Forest just north of Phoenix and includes a marina and campgrounds as well as many day use areas. In spring the hillsides surrounding the lake come alive with poppies and lupine along with other wildflowers making it a favorite time to visit.
