Crater Lake was formed thousands of years ago when Mt. Mazama erupted. The hole left in the mountain top filled with snow melt and rain, creating on the most most prestine lakes in the world. Crater Lake is about 2000 feet deep with blue colored water that does not seem real. Phantom Ship is a small island that resembles a ghost ship in Crater Lake. It is believed that is the remains of a filled conduit of a fissure tha poured lava at one time.
